Biography
Following a 17 year playing career at Celtic, followed by a brief spell at Hamilton and then Clydebank as a coach, 62 time capped Danny McGrain was appointed manager in November of 1992. McGrain did manage to improve things slightly, and led the club to a quarter final Scottish Cup appearance against Rangers in March 1993.
Unfortuately McGrain, an extremely popular figure at Gayfield amongst the Lichties faithful who become known as 'Danny McGrain's Bearded Army' - complete with stick on beards, resigned in January 1994 due to ill health before later taking up a coaching role back at Celtic.
