Match Report
Arbroath secured the extra bonus point this evening against a very well-organised and quick Cowdenbeath side. After a goalless first half, David Gold was fouled by Cowdenbeath keeper Craig Hepburn who was booked for the challenge, which allowed Michael McKenna to score from the spot in the 51st minute.
However Cowdenbeath equalised 10 minutes later from Jamie Docherty who found the net after Ewan MacPherson cross. Arbroath just couldn't score and were lucky as Aiden McLaughlin should have found the net for the visitors. Aiden McLaughlin however was soon shown a red card for a bad tackle on Aaron Steele, and in the final seconds Leighton McIntosh was running through on goal but was taken out by Jack Duncan who was shown a second yellow card and sent off, leaving Cowdenbeath down to 9 men. As the game ended 1-1 it went to a penalty shoot-out and to be fair, it wasn't the best penalty shoot-out you will ever see.
