Biography

McAleer was signed in the summer of 1930 from Glenboig St. Josephs and he was a regular in the team for the majority of the season, returning an excellent scoring record before featuring only twice after January 1931 and leaving for Rochdale that summer. He would go on to play for Northampton Town, Glenavon, Lincoln City, Clapton Orient, Lincoln City, Gillingham and Wrexham before returning to Scotland for a spell with King's Park during the 1938-39 season.
