Biography

McGarry played locally for Arbroath Roselea and was given a trial in April 1933 in a Second Division match against Edinburgh City but never signed permanently for the club. He would go on to play for Brechin Victoria before further senior appearances with Brechin City during the first half of the 1935-36 season as well as a trial appearance for Montrose later on in the same campaign.
