Biography

Hill, a junior internationalist, was signed from Dundee Stobswell just after the start of the 1938-39 campaign. After his signing he had a run of games in the first team, but by the start of December he dropped out the team and only made one further appearance, as well as playing 20 reserve games that season. The following campaign he featured three times, all in early January 1940 while on home leave from serving with the Black Watch. While serving, he sustained a broken leg in January 1943 while playing for the Black Watch in Gibraltar.

After our return to playing, Hill was a regular in the team throughout the mid to late 1940s before missing the majority of the 1950-51 campaign with injury. He featured as a regular on his return towards the end of the season and began the following year in the team before dropping out in late autumn and not featuring again after early December 1951. He was released at the end of the 1951-52 season but almost a year after his departure he was given a well deserved testimonial against Dundee in late April 1953.
