Torrance was signed early on in the 1985-86 season from Brechin City in a swap deal which saw Allan Kennedy move to Glebe Park. In his first season at the club he scored at over a goal every two goals, but the following campaign he fell out of favour in late autumn and only made one start after the New Year.
