Ronnie was signed up in from Aberdeen Lads Club in early October 1959 and after several impressive performances for the reserves he was given five games in the first team before dropping out of the team. He started the 1960-61 season as a regular at on the left wing up until mid-November 1960 when he was called up for his national service, although he did make our further appearance that campaign in early April while home on leave. He missed the entirety of the following season before returning in November 1962 and returning to his regular place on the left-hand side.

The 1963-64 season saw Ronnie miss just three competitive games and he continued in a similar vein the following campaign until he dropped out of the team, making his final appearance on 12th December. He featured for the reserves for the rest of the season before being given a free transfer in May 1965, going on to sign for Nairn County later that summer.
