Biography

John Devlin was our first ever club captain, Devlin, also captaining Forfarshire, before moving on to Rangers in January 1881. Devlin went on to play for Bolton Wanderers and after finishing playing he was employed in Dunfermline throughout his adult life, retiring three years prior to his death in 1940.

John's brother, Tom, also played for the club.
