Biography

Suttie joined the club from local junior side Dauntless and quickly established himself during the 1891-92 season, becoming an important player at outside left. In the summer of 1893, newly formed & professional Dundee tried to tempt Suttie to them but he turned them down to continue at Gayfield. During his time at Gayfield, Suttie was picked to represent Forfarshire.

On the 11th April 1894, Suttie left for Cape Town, South Africa to join his brother George who had moved there several years earlier.

Suttie kept in touch, writing in to the Herald on several occaisions from South Africa and taking great delight when reading of victories for his former club.
