Biography

Black played locally for St. Thomas and was given a trial with ourselves in October 1908. The following month he trialled with Rangers but he stayed with St. Thomas until the end of the season before a trial game with Montrose in April 1909 saw him sign up at Links Park for the 1909-1910 season.

Black was a solider and he fought in the Boer War prior to his footballing career as well as going to battle in WW1.
