After struggling to get a regular place in the first team again the following season he went on loan to Brechin City from November 1966 to April 1967 before returning for the following campaign and playing 25 games as the club gained promotion from the Second Division. He featured during the first half of the following campaign in the top division, but after suffering an injury he didn’t feature at all after New Year and was given a free transfer at the end of the season, returning to Carnoustie Panmure.
